PROS
CONS
While it’s about double the size of the LCS32010, the Earthwise LCS34014 offers essentially the same in the way of quality. Though it can handle slightly bigger branches and logs, it still struggles with many that it comes across. But, for a battery-powered chainsaw with its power capabilities, it’s about as affordable as you’re going to find.

Differences between the models
For the next part of our Earthwise electric chainsaw roundup review, let’s compare our three chainsaws. While all three chainsaws are similar in the fact that they’re battery-powered, they’re rather different in terms of size, power, and overall functionality.
The LCS35814 is by far the best of the three chainsaws. Not only is it the most powerful, it’s also the most durable.
Capable of consistently cutting branches up to 12 inches in width, it totally eclipses the 32010 and the 34014. While it’s best used around the house, it could conceivably be used for commercial purposes.
The 32010 and 34014 are very similar in their functionality and overall quality. Both lack durability and cutting consistency. The only true difference between the two is in their overall power capabilities. While the 34014 can consistently handle wood up to 6 inches in width, the 32010 can consistently handle wood up to 3 inches in width.
Each of these chainsaws is a value chainsaw, available for very reasonable prices when compared to other chainsaws of their ilk. Overall, the 32010 and 34014 are passable at best, while the 35814 is perhaps the best value chainsaw on the market today.
How Do They Compare
Now that we’ve reviewed our three Earthwise chainsaws, let’s compare them to other chainsaws on the market.
We’ll start by comparing them to this one from GreenWorks. This GreenWorks chainsaw compares most similarly to the 34014, as they possess similar power capabilities.
However, while both chainsaws make use of 40-volt batteries, the Greenworks possesses far superior cutting ability. Whereas the 34014 can only consistently handle branches of around 6 inches, the GreenWorks can consistently handle branches of around 12 inches.
When you throw in the fact that the GreenWorks is also cheaper and more durable than the 34014, the GreenWorks is clearly the winner. In fact, with the existence of the GreenWorks 20322 on the market, there is no reason to even think about buying the Earthwise 34014. The GreenWorks wipes the floor with it.
Next, let’s compare the Earthwise chainsaws to the BLACK+DECKER LCS1240. The LCS 1240 compares most similarly to the Earthwise 34014.
Both chainsaws are driven by 40-volt batteries, giving them comparable power capabilities. However, despite the fact that they possess very similar power capabilities, the BLACK+DECKER does a much better job of cutting wood in general.
Whereas the 34014 can consistently cut wood of 6 inches in width, the BLACK+DECKER can consistently cut wood of 10 inches in width. Not to mention, it also possesses far superior construction quality overall.
Again, between the two, there really is no comparison. The BLACK+DECKER is clearly the winner when faced off against the Earthwise 34014. Since they’re both available for around the same price, you’ve got to go with the BLACK+DECKER.
For our last comparison, let’s compare the Earthwise LCS35814 to this chainsaw from DeWalt.
These chainsaws possess similar power capabilities, with the 35814 driven by a 58-volt battery and the DeWalt driven by a 60-volt battery.
In terms of cutting performance, they’re very similar with the DeWalt being just a little bit more consistent. It possesses a 16-inch saw arm compared to the 35814’s 14-inch saw arm. This allows it to handle just a little bit more width overall. The DeWalt’s battery also tends to last longer than the 35814’s.
Ovall, the DeWalt chainsaw is a better product. However, when you consider that it costs about $100 more than the Earthwise, you might rather go with the Earthwise. The Earthwise is still a quality chainsaw, and offers tons of value for its price. In the end, it comes down to what you desire more: value or price.
If you want the chainsaw with the most overall value, go with the DeWalt. If you want to spend a little less money on a chainsaw that is still of very high quality, go with the Earthwise.
